Just A Burning Thought...

Share
I've been horned in the past.  Badly.  It was a long saga of tears, fights, depression, and sorrow.  It was years ago but I still remember.  The pain hasn't gone anywhere.  I'm a woman who forgives but does not forget.  Not ever.  And that's why I don't trust any man.  I just can't.  I believe we are all capable of cheating.

So now every time I see or meet someone with the same name as the 'other woman' I automatically frown and my rude self takes over.  It still happens after all these years.  Like, yesterday I was browsing through 20SB and I saw that name!  My mind immediately got swamped by bitter memories and I said, "Bitch, I ain't gon add you! Fuck you...", and I moved on to the next 20SB-er.

I know it's wrong but I can't help it.

Ever happened to you?

Oh I can definitely relate. There are some names (both male and female) that give me that reaction. Unfortunately I'll permanently associate the names with the person who caused me pain. I think I could be friends with someone with one of these names but I could never DATE someone w/the name of an ex & I could NEVER name my children anything that I associate with negative memories.
I hope you're having a good weekend! xox

Yes, I can say that it happens to me a lot. A. LOT. Even at work, when a patient's name is the same as, say, my ex-best friend's name, (which is a common name), I can't help but make a grumpy face. And were the same. I can also forgive but I will not ever forget. Little things will always remind me.

Super hug!!!!

I can't relate. I'm just happy, you weren't horned by any Kafka or Nino.

That's definitely happened to me. There are certain names I just don't like anymore.

Lol. So true. Whenever I hear "the name" my eyebrow automatically rises by itself and my eyes start to roll. There are somethings we can forgive but to forget is a another story

Never happened to me thankfully.

Yes. Happened with me. I even shifted the place where I was living because my neighbor (Who was actually kind!) had "that name." It's kind of weird, I know, but, nothing much can be done about it.

I've never been cheated on thankfully. I don't think I'd be able to handle it. I'd probably kill myself. =( You're a strong woman.

I had a serious girlfriend in college - one time I was in my hall hanging out with another chick and her door was closed and locked. Only time in my life a girl ever straight up said to me, "I want to have sex." I didn't do it because I didn't want to cheat.

My girlfriend ended up cheating on me a bunch of times and it caused a shit monsoon in my life. A part of me looks back and wishes I had sex with that fine lady, but I'm also glad I never jeopardized my character. Hopefully that integrity will carry over into a successful relationship one day. Whether it's tomorrow or five years from now that's fine with me...I'm in no rush.

Skinny Dip I had a quiet, resting week-end. Plus, it was raining. How was yours?

Gnetch Thank you hun! ;p

MKL You're not the type to horn anyone! ;p

Barbara So far, I hate only one name!

ChinkyGirLMeL You feel like murdering that person, isn't it? ;p

Harini You are lucky!

Angel You moved out? Wow...the pain doesn't go away, does it?

Kanwalful Why kill yourself over/for a guy who doesn't deserve it?

Danaconda Ah! That works in your favor fosho! Same thing happened to my husband before he met me and believe me, the woman he refused sleeping with, holds him in high regards. And yeah, do not rush...whenever it's to happen, it'll happen...;p

I've never been stung that bad, so I wouldn't know exactly. However, my new flatmate is called the same as the old flatmate's mooching boyfriend and I find it a bit cringe-worthy! :P
